To help us troubleshoot an issue quickly, please include your iPhone model (such as iPhone 17, iPhone 18 Pro, or iPhone Duo), your iOS version, the in-game career year or week you are on, and a short description of what happened.

Saving Your Career and Reinstalling Without Losing Progress

A-List: Pop Star RPG saves your career progress locally on your iPhone and does not use an online account, login, iCloud Drive, CloudKit, or Game Center sync.

  • Automatic Saving: The game has one save slot (a-list-save.json in the app's Documents folder) and saves automatically after every action—there is no manual save button.
  • Starting a New Career: When you finish a career and choose Start New Career after confirmation, the game replaces the active career and keeps a local backup copy of your replaced save on the device.
  • Deleting vs. Offloading the App: Because your save file lives inside the app's local Documents folder on your iPhone, tapping Delete App removes the app and permanently deletes all local career save data from your device.

If you need to reinstall the game or free up storage space without losing your career save, use iOS Offload App instead of Delete App:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Go to General, then tap iPhone Storage.
  3. Scroll down and select A-List: Pop Star RPG.
  4. Tap Offload App (do not tap Delete App). Offloading removes the app binary while keeping your local Documents save file and preferences intact on your iPhone.
  5. Tap Reinstall App on the same screen, or download A-List: Pop Star RPG again from the App Store, to resume your career where you left off.

Because the save file is not excluded from backup, iOS includes it in your personal iCloud Backup and computer backups by default. If you switch to a new iPhone, your career save will transfer when you restore your new iPhone from an iCloud Backup or a full Finder/macOS device backup of your previous iPhone.

Basic Troubleshooting

  • Game Freezes or Does Not Advance to the Next Week: Close the app completely from the iOS App Switcher and reopen it. Because the game saves automatically after every action, your career will resume from your last completed action. Always check the App Store to make sure you have installed the latest update of A-List: Pop Star RPG; installing an App Store update over your existing app keeps your saved career intact.
  • iPhone Duo Layout: On iPhone Duo, A-List: Pop Star RPG shows two panes on the unfolded inner display and one pane on the cover display.
  • Haptics and Motion Settings: You can turn tactile feedback on or off at any time using the Haptics toggle in the in-game Settings sheet (which also includes the About section). Motion effects follow your iPhone's system Reduce Motion setting in iOS Accessibility settings.
  • Purchases, Billing, and Re-Downloading: A-List: Pop Star RPG is a paid upfront game ($0.99 USD or local equivalent) with no in-app purchases and no payment-processing code in the app. All billing, receipts, and refund requests are handled directly by Apple through your Apple Account. If you already purchased the game and are signed into the same Apple Account, you can re-download it from the App Store at no additional charge.
